有「台灣愛迪生」之稱的前國代鄧鴻吉今天下午宣布參選台中市中西東南區立委補選，國民黨籍中西區議員洪嘉鴻和東南區議員林珮涵公開力挺，兩人說，國民黨不能再失敗了，希望有藍綠都能接受的人選出線。

針對國民黨籍的前台中市副市長蕭家淇也同時宣布參選，洪嘉鴻與林珮涵都表示，還是力挺鄧鴻吉，呼籲國民黨尊重基層民意，不要用徵召方式，以免因漠視民意，再次落敗。
